Tatum has been engaged by a Healthcare organization based in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area to conduct a search for a Director of Legacy Accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a multi-unit/multi-location environment, and have strong experience in M&A consolidation.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of nine (9) years in an Accounting role; healthcare-related preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years Accounting or Finance experience in a multi-unit company
  • Minimum three (3) years Public accounting experience preferred

responsibilities:
  • Perform review and ensure timeliness and accuracy of month end journal entries prepared by senior accountant direct reports.
  • Perform review of monthly practice P&Ls and ensure reasonableness compared to target values.
  • Proactively request and timely receive necessary information from the legacy practices and consultants to facilitate month end close, provider compensation and bank reconciliation activities.
  • Provide acquisition integration leadership and due diligence for monthly activities.
  • Prepare, communicate and facilitate the monthly reconciliation of legacy bank accounts to obtain timely transfer of net collections due USDP.
  • Ensure GAAP compliant schedules for all leases.
  • Ensure property rent and related components are timely and accurately paid by the accounts payable team.
  • Ensure personal property taxes are timely and properly accrued, renditioned and paid.
  • Prepare monthly Management Service Agreement calculations.
  • Assist the Controller in various acquisition accounting activities.
  • Perform other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.

  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong customer service attitude
  • Ability to identify problems, create solutions and implement those solutions
  • Dependable employee that applies confidentiality and discretion appropriately
  • Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit or verify information or data.
  • Excellent organizational skills necessary to support the leadership of this function
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with simultaneous projects and changing priorities
  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs

    • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Mathematical and Analytical strength
  • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
  • Basic to intermediate computer operation

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, and Outlook

Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
