Our client a large healthcare practice is seeking a Director of Procurement to join their growing finance and accounting team in the Dallas area. The Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities in Procurement functions to meet the financial obligations of the organization. This position requires prior healthcare procurement experience and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

responsibilities:

The Procurement Director is responsible for developing a strategic approach to the corporate procurement and process of all goods and services. This position will be responsible for coming up with strategies that reduce cost of acquisitions and services provided. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that the company stays within the assigned budget and operates profitably.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing cost saving procurement and sourcing strategies
  • Research and recruit profitable suppliers
  • Create and implement successful return on investment formulas
  • Create and execute profitable savings versus spending formulas in favor of the company budget
  • Main point of contact for vendor relationship with procurement partners.
  • Negotiate with vendors to ensure contracts are favorable to companies' budget and needs
  • Review existing contracts and re-negotiate if necessary
  • Oversee contract development and administration
  • Establish approval guidelines for all purchase orders to ensure that proper approval has been granted
  • Track and report key functional metrics to executive leadership team
  • Partner with key leaders to ensure that procurement goals align with company budget
  • Preform risk management on current or future contracts and agreements
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Post Graduate Degree- High Preferred
  • 7-10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program
