job summary:

Tatum's client located in Burlington, MA is currently seeking a Director of Revenue/Director of Finance with a focus on Pricing, Sales, Commissions, Discounting, Deal Desk management, Systems Support of Sales Tracking, Budgeting, Financial Metrics on Customers (Acquisition, Loss, Account Penetration, Expansion, Forecasting, etc), Deal approvals based on gross margin, deal size, deal duration, and how all of this impacts budgeting and forecasting and the financial performance of the company.

This position is accountable for the provision of feedback and counsel to the Senior Leadership Team, Regional leadership, and the Operations Team regarding various internal functions. The role is responsible for the effectiveness and impact of field capabilities relative to the company's strategic and financial goals.

responsibilities:

Business Planning and Revenue Support:

  • Collaborate with client(s), Finance and other internal functions to:
  • Direct the activities related to the fiscal year planning, quota setting, budgeting and business readiness processes
  • Direct the global sales forecasting process
  • Collaborate to provide revenue support, including: tracking the effectiveness of marketing campaigns through to closure, pipeline analysis, optimizing field resource allocation, tracking operating expense and headcount, assisting with transaction processing, etc.
  • Manage data for the fiscal year planning, quota setting, budgeting and business readiness processes
  • Provide data for Business Change Management as relates to quota, organization and account management
  • Implement Compensation Planning; Compensation plan, Individual Schedules, Incentive Programs and Commission analysis
  • Implement strategy in areas of sales and business support; opportunity/deal management
  • Implement and execute sales management systems and initiatives.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and departments on reporting initiatives:
  • Provide a core set of standard reports to meet the needs of the business
  • Provide research and analyze system data to meet business needs
  • Manage the efforts of reporting and dashboard initiatives to the Business
  • Provide root cause analysis & recommendations to the Business
  • Manage teams members to become SMEs on management information, questions and coordination point for local users
  • Provide key performance indicators in the standard reporting for the management system
 
qualifications:

Director of Sales Operations Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in field facing, or finance roles, preferably in the SaaS based technology industry.
  • Experience working with a private equity firm a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Finance, Marketing, Sales or a business related field.
  • MBA or global equivalent preferred.
  • Strong leadership, planning, execution, presentation, communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial style and strong ability to work without direction with breakthrough thinking, influencing and execution capabilities.
  • Experience working with SalesForce.
  • Strong spreadsheet and analysis abilities, systems and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to build relationships with complimentary areas of the business, particularly in Finance, IS, HR and the field facing organizations.
  • Highly capable of building consensus and driving change among multiple organizational levels and varied constituents.
  • Due to the position's high level of exposure and the sensitivity of some data, functions must be carried out discretely and with a high level of professionalism.
  • Improve sales capability and effectiveness and deliver management visibility into business performance.
