Opportunity Description

Client Situation: Newly formed holding company has acquired its first operating wealth and financial advisory company and would like to hire an experienced senior level Interim CFO to lead the process of assessing the newly acquired finance and accounting team, function, processes, systems to determine scalability and best practices to gain additional synergies through a centralized shared office and reporting function as additional acquisitions are made. This Interim CFO at the holding company will be a business partners to senior executives in understanding the vision and making

recommendations to prioritize actions and managing the work required to build a high functioning finance and accounting function supporting acquisitions and rapid growth.

The Interim CFO will be responsible for building projections, forecasting, managing capital requirements, evaluating teams and staff of acquired company, building processes for holding company reporting and expectations, oversee purchase accounting (supported by additional Tatum professionals); integrate systems and ERP of a second acquisition, work with credit departments, communicate with executive team, support due diligence and evaluation an integration of future acquisitions. Assess the CFO of first acquisition to determine use and capabilities to support the holding company in the perm role, determine if he is able to be trained and mentored. Primary deliverables/project goals:

  • Develop and implement project and forecasting models (Visibility)
  • Assess team and CFO of acquisition(s) and determine ability to perform, mentor, develop, and lead through the rapid growth and scale of the business
  • Assist evaluations and integration of follow on acquisitions (M&A)
  • Evaluate and lead the integration and use of systems/ERP for scale of additional follow on acquisitions, create
  • best practices and bring in additional resources to execute an ERP integration strategy acquisitions
  • Work with banks and investors and manage credit agreements, and bank covenants on debt
  • Lead and manage additional M&A relative to the finance and accounting teams, processes, systems, acquisition
  • financing, regulatory reporting, and board and management reporting
  • Support the centralization of back office synergies and opportunities

Top Required Capabilities (must haves):

  • 15 - 20 years in Financial Advisory, Wealth Management Broker industry working with "independent advisor groups", heavy regulated markets
  • Must have strong banking experience managing large credit agreements and acquisition financing. Must manage all bank covenants, and regulated capital requirements
  • Strong M&A expertise and ability to assess people, processes, systems, and priorities for integrations and continued scale and growth
  • Must have experience building forecasting models and build reporting infrastructure for credible projections
  • Must be high-energy and able to travel to acquired companies and to potential acquisition targets
  • Experience triaging and prioritizing needs and managing various projects across an organization as it scales
