job summary:

Tatum has been engaged by a large, publicly traded Retail company based in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area to conduct a search for a Manager of Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting.

This position will play a key role in technical accounting research, implementation and compliance including frequent intersection with numerous teams and divisions. This position will have responsibility for the quarterly production and of SEC Reporting documents, including monthly internal reporting to executives, owners, and other stakeholders. Further, this role will be a primary contact for the Company's external audit team, coordinate with 3rd party advisors and consultants, and interface regularly with senior leaders

responsibilities:

Key Performance Elements:

  • The timely and accurate reporting of financial results including accounting, statement preparation and related analysis.
  • Responsible for preparation and review coordination of SEC filings including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Technical accounting research, implementation and compliance.
  • Technical and general ledger accounting expertise who serves as a point of contact for others on accounting rules and methodology.
  • Tracking and consolidation of subsidiaries in connection with reporting, legal entity, jurisdictional and debt consolidations.
  • Ad hoc analysis, strategic project support, and due diligence, as necessary.
  • Complex problem solving, process innovation and staff development.

Requirements:

  • 7-8+ years of technical accounting and reporting experience with an emphasis in SEC filer requirements
  • Big 4 public or public/industry combination
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, Graduate degree preferred
  • Active CPA license required
  • Significant experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting, up to speed on current accounting issues and hot topics
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, intellectually curious, strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle competing priorities, commitment to deadlines and quality work products
  • Strong leadership capabilities with emphasis on development, innovation and mentorship
