job summary:

Healthcare client located near Providence, RI is seeking a permanent Compliance Officer to join them.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Corporate Compliance and Internal Audit or designee, support the Compliance Department by acting as the subject matter expert on HIPAA; performing research on various compliance topics; developing compliance tools based on current system software, and other duties.Provide functional or technical supervision to other employees in the same or related classifications where supervisory responsibility is limited to occasional direction, guidance, explanation, etc. Serve as a role model for ethical conduct.A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university is required; Certification in HIPAA Compliance or Corporate Compliance is required or must be actively pursuing certification with completion within one year of hire. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint are required. Minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
