Job Description:

Client is looking for a Private Equity VP of Finance and Accounting to add to its growing team in Dallas, Texas. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working, resourceful individual with a bias for action to support our portfolio companies as well help execute acquisitions, capital raises, and divestitures. The position will work together with the partners as well as significant amount of time with portfolio company C-Suites to carry out various financial, operational, and strategic initiatives. We have an eye towards the future with every hire we make, and the expectation is that this position will have every opportunity to carve-out a long-term role with the firm or its portfolio companies. Responsibilities

  • As a VP of Finance and Accounting, you will work with our internal investment professionals and our portfolio company executives to maintain and deliver accurate and on time financial reporting packages and assist in buying and evaluating potential acquisitions.
  • You will help our leadership continue to improve their internal accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Be an integral part of evaluating and supporting key decisions at our portfolio companies.
  • Help ensure accurate and on-time reporting at the fund level.
  • Support the broader team with board presentations and the annual budgeting process.
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party financial service support related to audit, tax, and transactions.
  • Contribute to the development of your own and the teams technical acumen.
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Train, coach, and supervise accounting staff at various portfolio companies.
  • Keep up-to-date with local and national business and economic issues.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrates knowledge and success in roles providing financial due diligence and other transaction-related services to companies that lack strong financial oversight and controls.

Demonstrates knowledge and success in roles interviewing executive management at target companies, as well as extensive knowledge assessing a target company's quality of earnings, net assets, and cash flows.

Demonstrates aptitude and success with resolving issues in technical accounting areas.

Demonstrates a level of abilities and success, as both an individual contributor and team member, with identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of firm services; and, managing engagements, including preparing concise, accurate documents and maintaining project economics while maintaining flexibility for unanticipated issues.

Ability to do the work and present the information in a concise and accurate way.
