Tatum Professional Search has an exciting opportunity available for an Accountant II. Our client is the largest and one of the fastest growing credit unions in Georgia. Their rapid growth has created additional career opportunities within the organization. They are looking for energetic, flexible, and service oriented individuals for the Accountant II position.

responsibilities:

The Accountant II position is a key member of the accounting team and assists the Senior Accountants, Assistant Manager, Manager, and CAO with various job duties. The responsibilities of this position will include preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and performing daily job duties. S/he will collaborate with various business units on various job duties and will develop a solid understanding of business needs, strategy and products.

Essential Functions:

- Create and maintain job procedures for all primary job duties.

- Perform daily job duties that could include expense reimbursements, branch balancing, fixed assets, ATMs, cash accounts, monitoring clearing accounts, mortgage accounting, among other tasks.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to third party supporting documentation.

- Investigate and explain forecast to actual variances for selected accounts.

- Assist in updating accounting department policies.

qualifications:

Job Qualifications

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree

-2+ years' related experience

-Must be self-managed and capable of balancing multiple tasks

-Open to change and willing to learn new skills

-Must possess the ability to follow up on pending issues

-Possess the ability to meet deadlines

-Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented

-Must possess strong analytic skills

-Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree

-4+ years' related experience

-Interest in pursuing CPA license

-Applied knowledge of credit union or financial services systems, policies, and procedures
