Currently looking for an Accounting Manager that is a Spanish speaker that can work closely with my clients Latin America operations as well as operations in the UK and Hong Kong. Position will manage a variety of 3rd party accountants in various countries, statutory audits, consolidation/foreign exchange, local GAAP/IFRS to US GAAP convergence, and other special projects. responsibilities:

Accounting Manager - International Accounting

You will collaborate with the Financial Reporting team on technical accounting issues, management reporting and the audit process. The Manager of General Ledger will provide support and guidance regarding the monthly closing process, including timing, account reconciliations, and accounting system requirements.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Ensure generation of financial statements and reporting for non-U.S. operating units and statutory entities in a timely and accurate manner -- in accordance with the relevant accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review monthly/quarterly general ledger account reconciliations, sub ledger reconciliations and adjusting entries as required.
  • Assist in the management of all aspects of international accounting activities, including, but not limited to, cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and the general ledger.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining local statutory accounting, reporting, and tax compliance for all foreign subsidiaries across EMEA, APAC and Latin America. Ensure that local policies and procedures provide global, multi-regime compliance and are consistent with global objectives.
  • Provide input on a range of international technical accounting and finance-related issues and compliance. Highlight new or existing accounting rules or issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information and supplementary reports to relevant users, including non-U.S. experts and leadership.
  • Ensure consistency in accounting and controls policies and procedures globally.

International Operations and Processes

  • Provide finance and accounting support to regional and country leadership.
  • Drive continuous control environment improvements and streamlining processes in order to accelerate close and annual audit process.
  • Ensure efficient use of existing systems, and provide leadership and direction regarding the implementation of new systems and technology.
  • Except as otherwise provided, act as the finance/accounting coordinator and liaison to various business units supporting non-U.S. operations, including Legal, HR, Facilities, IT, Payroll, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Billing and Accounts Receivable.
  • Coordinate with local accountant and determine the appropriate division of responsibilities and ensure that closing deadlines and information requirements are met timely.
  • Provide training to colleagues to enhance the technical and operational accounting capabilities of the team.
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with legal, payroll and HR, the financial and accounting aspects of the initiation and maintenance of operations in new countries and the set-up, if necessary, of new companies.
  • In conjunction with tax, legal and other units, support global processes and procedures for management of income tax, VAT and related planning, compliance and reporting, including systems for transfer pricing and similar processes.
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with legal, payroll and HR, the accounting aspects of hiring new employees in non-U.S. operations.
  • In conjunction with the billing and legal department, work to enhance our ability to support non-U.S. expert/client activities, particularly creation of new engagements plus billing and collection of fees.
  • Oversee non-U.S. finance and accounting infrastructure support needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience with 1+ years in finance and accounting management
  • Minimum of 3 years of international finance/accounting management experience supporting the operations of non-U.S. subsidiaries of multi-national companies.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, exposure to international accounting guidelines and financial reporting (IFRS) and the ability to identify issues and utilize third parties when necessary to support international requirements
  • Experience in a professional services business (or other business reliant on significant revenue-generating individuals) a positive, but not required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, team player, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
  • Ability to work well with global and foreign office leadership, producer experts and across functions to achieve business objectives
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
  • Spanish language skills are required. Portuguese, Japanese, or Mandarin language abilities also useful in this role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required
  • Strong managerial presence and professional image. Ability to initiate process improvements and multi-task
  • Experience in hiring and mentoring accounting personnel
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong capacity to prioritize and complete varied tasks in a timely manner
