Tatum Professional Search has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to help manage the finance and accounting needs of their growing company. The position is located at the client's office, near Northside Drive in Atlanta, GA (30339). They are a leading provider of comprehensive tree and vegetation management services to utility, government, residential, and commercial customers in the Southeastern and Northeastern United States.

  • Oversee and find ways to improve the monthly close and reporting process
  • Review and post monthly journal entries prepared by the senior accountant
  • Report and analyze interim financials for accuracy and consistency of transaction recording
  • Provide MD&A of monthly financials for review by company leadership
  • Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
  • Maintain and identify new weekly and monthly operational KPIs and partner with operations to identify challenges and propose recommendations to improve operational efficiencies
  • Improve and maintain process documentation
  • Liaison and key lead on annual audit
  • Assist or manage special ad hoc projects and processes to support the Gunnison Company platform build
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting + (at least 3 years' experience in public accounting + 5 years corporate accounting (total of 8 to 10+ total years of corporate finance/accounting experience).
  • Experience working in a service industry a big plus
  • Experience leading an Accounting/Finance staff of 1 to 4+ people
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data and make recommendations based on findings
  • Self-motivated with good planning and organization skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Experience building a team and comfortable providing real-time feedback and coaching
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure, and meet required deadlines
  • Thrive in a fast-pace setting and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Quickbooks and/or NetSuite are a big "plus"
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of organization; strong presentation skills
