Tatum Professional Search has a high performance machine manufacturing client located in the North Metro Atlanta area with an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager. The position is on-site and reports to the Vice President and will manage a small Accounting team.

  • Oversee accounting staff (4) in the performance of an accurate and efficient month-end financial close and associated reporting including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of the income statement.
  • Aptitude for obtaining fast detailed knowledge of the company operations and systems.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Manage company bank accounts and credit card accounts.
  • Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data recommending plans.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variance; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Prepare month-end sales & use tax analysis and filings.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions, including multi-state taxation, property and business taxes
  • Ensure Month-end and Year-end closings are processed and on time.
  • Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employee; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and controls identified and facilitate implementation and compliance of the policies.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Lead payables and collections.
  • Work closely with CFO who is based in Europe.
  • Ability to work from home or in the office to accommodate to company needs. Position is "on-site" in an office located in the North Atlanta Metro area.
  • Must have a degree in business, finance, or accounting; OR CPA.
  • Must have some management experience of accounting personnel.
  • At least 7-10 years working as assistant accounting manager, senior accountant or accounting manager for medium size company required.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting and auditing practices.
  • Spreadsheet proficiency. Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel- Pivot tables and Outlook); Proficiency with SAP is a "plus."
  • Previous experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Detailed oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
  • Strong business acumen required
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills are required as you will work across the organization and manage a small team.
  • International accounting experience is a plus.
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic who enjoys helping their team succeed.
  • Strong presentation skills (comfortable and confident presenting to Executive Staff). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
