job summary:

Our client is seeking a Temp-Hire Accounting Manager to join its team! This person will report to the Assistant Controller and will be based in onsite in Kennesaw, GA.

  • Manage the daily functions of the applicable accounting department including but not limited to, planning, prioritizing, and directing workflow, acting as a resource for questions, and interacting with senior management.
  • Design, review and recommend financial and accounting policies, processes, procedures, and technology to meet internal and external reporting requirements, improve operational efficiency and safeguard corporate assets. Plan and execute implementation.
  • Assist senior management with budgeting, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, preparation of quarterly and annual filings, research, and other tasks as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting services to senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage communication with internal and external customers regarding departmental work and facilitate the resolution of customer issues.
  • Interact with both external and internal auditors related to financial results, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Perform internal control procedures and exercise initiative to identify and explain variances and unusual items.
  • Bachelor's Degree with Accounting/Finance specialty and a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience.
  • CPA or equivalent designation is preferred.
  • Proficient utilization of applications such as PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office and other internally developed applications for timely reporting requirements.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills and experienced as a manager.
  • Exposure to financial statement preparation on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis of accounting.
  • Strong work ethic with dependable, consistent performance and effective time management skills.
  • Display independent analytical thinking and problem-solving ability based on sound judgement and decisions with attention to detail.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills with staff in cross functional areas and all levels of management.
  • Motivated individual with a teamwork mindset to produce timely and accurate results.
