Accounting Manager

Currently working with a hyper growth fintech company that was recognized as a Best Place to Work and has been placed on the Forbes FinTech 50 is looking for an Accounting Manager for the team. This position will work closely with the VP, Controller and Director of Accounting on managing the month-end close cycle, be the defacto technical accounting person on various complex accounting areas that come up, and help them as they continue to scale and grow the department. Position will have a ton of upside with strong IPO possibilities. Qualified candidates will have 6-7+ years of experience ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry experience and good mix of both operational accounting and technical accounting skills. responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and external audits.
  • Responsible for planning and executing the month end close process within Oracle NetSuite, overseeing a the corporate accounting team, while meeting six days monthly close calendar milestones
  • Work on process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness on a continuous basis through various techniques using technology solutions and automation.
  • Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, technical accounting research and supplemental reporting.
  • Assist in managing external audit, including preparation and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with other Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly close matters and other initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and train the team; take an active interest in their career and development; find ways to continue their growth and development
  • Assists in documentation/implementation of internal controls over operations and financial reporting are in place

  • CPA with minimum of 3 yrs of public accounting experience.
  • 6+ years of progressive responsibilities applying US GAAP standards,
  • Accounting research, execution, and problem solving skills required
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and leverage technology to build scalable processes, gain efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite ERP.
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
