job summary:

This Supervisor of Accounting position is a Direct Hire role with a well established, highly reputable company north of Boston. The Accounting Supervisor will oversee a staff of 4 responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting for all assigned entities. This includes, but not limited to maintaining the general ledger, month end close, and process improvements.

    responsibilities:

    RESPONSIBILITIES :

    1. Responsible for oversight of all original books of entry and interfaces booked to system.
    2. Responsible for oversight and review of all staff and senior accountants work.
    3. Responsible for G/L mapping between subsystems and GL.
    4. Responsible for all intercompany and group balance reconciliation.
    5. Participate and interface with external Auditors at the Year-end and interim audits.
    6. Implementation of the department initiatives in accordance with performance plan.
    7. Liaison between Finance Group and Other Corporate Departments.
    8. Responsible for maintaining and reviewing monthly Close binder.
    9. Implement operational and technological changes as they relate to the General Ledger and the monthly close process.
    10. Preparation of P+L and Balance Sheet analytics.
    11. Perform Accounting Research as needed
    12. Additional responsibilities as required by Controllers / Directors / CFO.
       
      qualifications:

      Ideal profile:

      • BS in Accounting
      • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
      • Prior staff management experience
      • Team Player
      • Previous experience in service industry
      • Ability to work in multi-state environment
