Accounts Payable Manager

Currently seeking an Accounts Payable Manager for a successful Real Estate Investment Company in San Francisco. This position will help lead a mid-size team and support the development of processes and procedures as the company scales. Qualified candidates will have 2-3+ years of leadership experience and 7+ years of overall experience within Accounts Payable. Please apply for further consideration.

responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage all accounts payable functions for four interdepartmental divisions (Corporate, Fund, Property and Loancore) and supervise the Accounts Payable Associates.
  • Hire, train and develop Accounts Payable Associates; including evaluating performance.
  • Mange the process of timely and accurate AP invoice approval, data entry, reconciliation of accounts, payment of approved invoices and reporting; ensuring adherence to multiple department guidelines and standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to AP process, as needed.
  • Review AP batches that consist of checks, wires and ACH prior to payments being released.
  • Manage, update and improve the travel and expense policy, expense reporting process and credit card program.
  • Help mitigate employee turnover risk by implementing cross training among the Accounts Payable Associates.
  • Work with third party check cutting/electronic payment processing company (PayMode-X).
  • Provide assistance to vendors and internal company personnel and respond to questions/concerns to meet the various department's business needs.
  • Manage the annual 1099 issuance process.
  • Assist in audits related to AP activities.
  • Assist with various treasury functions (adding new users / new bank accounts) and enhancing internal controls across the AP process.
  • Assist with review of Nexus workflows.
  • Assist with other projects as requested.

  • Five (5) + years of accounts payable experience required; Two (2) + years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following accounts payable/financial software programs (Nexus Payables, Chrome River, and MRI Real Estate Software) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with job costing and departmental allocations preferred.
  • Experience in the real estate and asset management industries preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
