Tatum by Randstad is working with a privately owned global distribution company in the Philadelphia area; they are currently looking for a Accounts Payable Supervisor, reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager. responsibilities:

-Supervise a team of 4-8 Accounts Payable Senior Merchandise Processors and/or Accounts Payable Merchandise Processors.

-Ensure team members are efficiently using the tools available, including but not limited to EDI, Global Search, dashboard reports, Excel, etc. and facilitate trainings for noted areas of improvement.

-Monitoring team activities to ensure discount opportunities are taken and EDI exceptions are being resolved timely.

-Maintain KPIs and statistics for the team & regularly communicate statistics/trends with

the team.

-Selectively audit batches being done by the team to identify that policy/procedure is being followed.

-Identify areas of potential vendor overload (seasonal or permanent) & organize within

team to reassign work, or communicate with the Accounts Payable Manager if workload

needs to be reassigned outside the group.

-Update team calendar of vacation and sick time & approve time in ADP.

-Complete annual performance evaluations for each team member in coordination with the Accounts Payable Manager.

-Review aged invoice and debit memos to ensure invoices are processed timely.

-Provide Accounts Payable Manager with quarterly analysis of credit memos for the group.

-Identify ways to enhance and improve efficiency in the current merchandise payable

process and procedures.

-Maintain open line of communication with internal departments, stores, and vendors.

-Develop relationships with Purchasing department buyers related to group vendors and in general to ensure open dialogue.

-Maintain working knowledge of PO (purchase order) processing & suggest improvements to internal controls.

-Participate in the testing & implementation of EDI for more vendors. Oversee the

department EDI procedures & policies, best practices and training thereon.

-Function as liaison with IT department regarding Global Search & conduct department

trainings.

-Assist team with invoice volume/issue resolution as needed.

-Assist Accounts Payable Manager to develop a library of how-to/FAQ training video

resource library for the department.

 
qualifications:

3-4 years of experience in a large fast-paced accounts payable or accounting related

department recommended.

Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written to interact with

various departments, vendors, and store personnel.

- Solid people skills, motivational oversight of others

- Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Excellent Time Management Skills

- Ability to multi-task & work with multiple vendors in a fast paced environment

- Must be professional, dependable, trustworthy, and respectful

- Fully on-site position
