job summary:

Acquisition Accounting Consultant

Tatum has a client opportunity with a company where we have won business in the past and now they are expanding. This is a Private Equity owned company in uptown Dallas, Texas. The project opportunity is for an Accounting Consultant requiring a technical accounting background able to perform work at the CAO level but strictly M&A focused. The client prefers a Texas based consultant and this individual must be able to come to the Dallas office and be onsite at least 2 days a week. This is a 3 - 6 month project.

responsibilities:

Project responsibility and focus:

Acquisition accounting front end transaction focus for potential companies not for diligence but for integration efforts of an acquired practice,

Someone that can do the accounting for their M&A work (not the due diligence)

VIE Accounting (Variable Interest Entity)

The consultant will be responsible for the transaction integration and deliver to the auditors the financials.

This person will be the post acquisition person that will be doing the transaction accounting and closing the books for the first 2-3 months.

 
qualifications:
  • Must have strong VIE experience
  • CPA or strong accounting background involved in auditing companies and entities in healthcare clinic acquisitions, ideally Private Equity experience
  • This is a merger accounting specialist and must have this experience.
  • Must have Healthcare Industry Experience The company is expanding and acquiring eye care clinics which can range from single to multi-physician practices.
  • This is a person that needs to HIT THE GROUND RUNNING . Must be able to take a company's books and be able to draft memos for a variable interest entity.
