job summary:

My client, a large, well known organization with operations across the US, is seeking a hands on Revenue Manager with strong ASC 606 knowledge to join their well established, motivated department.

The Revenue Manager will regularly interact with upper management and at times be required to interface with members of the executive leadership team.

responsibilities:
  • Role requires strong technical revenue recognition accounting in accordance with ASC 606
  • The Revenue Manager will support the revenue accounting, technical revenue recognition, and general corporate accounting functions by managing a team of analysts assigned to review sales contracts, and providing technical accounting guidance as a revenue subject-matter expert.
  • Manage and support the setup and review of complex contracts, apply technical accounting guidance and identify inherent risks, review journal entries, and review and approve balances of revenue-related general ledger accounts.?
  • Monitor incremental costs of obtaining contracts including capitalization criteria for new and renewal commissions and substantive service requirements
  • Track escalating subscription / access fees and tiered subscription / access fees to determine recognition pattern and potential for incremental revenues
  • Estimate variable consideration in the form of penalties and incentives based on performance metrics
  • The ideal candidate will have strong cross-functional skills with a process improvement mindset, the ability to translate technical literature and policy into clear requirements for execution, strong change management skills, and the ability to drive issues through to resolution.
 
qualifications:
  • Must have active CPA
  • Must have strong ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
  • Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
  • Strong accounting, analytical and research skills
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other team members.
  • Superior spreadsheets skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
