job summary:

This role is responsible for assisting with leading an accounting team of 15 (Accountants & Auditors), and performing the day-to-day processing of the gaming and non-gaming accounting transactions. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of gaming and non-gaming accounting experience, a bachelor's degree and supervisory experience is a plus. The position reports to a Controller that is willing to train and groom so supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

responsibilities:
  • Assist with overseeing a combination of accountants and gaming & non-gaming auditors.
  • Assist with overseeing and directing all casino finance control functions, and ensures all gaming, tax and federal regulations are followed.
  • Reviews account reconciliations and journal entries ensuring compliance with existing controls, policies and procedures and GAAP.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.
  • Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements.
  • Coordinate and review the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting processes to accurately record transactions.
  • Continuously evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of gaming-related activities and controls; assist with implementing new or update existing policies or procedures as needed to maximize operations.
  • Assist Controller in developing and leading regular training sessions to enhance department performance.
  • Assists staff in problem resolution and escalation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review daily audits performed by the audit clerks.

  • 3+ years of progressive casino accounting experience
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of gaming regulations.
  • Gaming license/registration is required
