Seeking an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller to support the CFO in meeting the company's objectives in all aspects of assigned corporate accounting, reconciliation, analysis and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists the CFO in meeting the company's objectives in all aspects of assigned corporate accounting, reconciliation, analysis and reporting
  • Assists in managing corporate human resources including weekly payroll administration and employee maintenance
  • Provides oversight and assistance to project management team to ensure compliance to licensing and government regulations such as sales and use tax, business registrations, contracting licensing and others as required by project location
  • Provides support for other affiliated companies as necessary
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts as requested
  • Apply customer cash receipts
  • Sales, use, and occupational tax returns and reconciliations
  • Research sales tax rates as needed on an individual project basis
  • Vendor, subcontractor, and corporate accounts payable oversight
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Assist as needed in preparing financial statements, forecasts, budgets
  • Documentation of processes and procedures; create process guides and manuals as needed
  • Business and General Contractor license filings including initial registrations and annual renewals
  • Identify and prevent discrepancies in tax rates and calculations
  • Help set up control systems to ensure compliance with local and state regulations
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Onboarding new employees ensuring all necessary and required documentation is obtained prior to first day of employment
  • Process weekly payroll and related payroll taxes
  • Record cash transactions related to payroll
  • File necessary quarterly payroll reports for all required states
  • Prepare required year end wage reporting such as W-2s and ACA filing, as necessary
  • Update/create employee payroll setups as needed to maintain personnel records
  • Assist in preparing project scorecards and annual reviews


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of accounting and related experience preferably in a construction industry setting; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
