Assistant Controller

Tatum by Randstad is on the search for a strong Assistant Controller for a client located in Midlothian, VA.

 
location: Richmond, Virginia

responsibilities:
  • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  • Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs, verifying data.
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing activities.
  • Review and perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.
  • Expense report and company credit card management.
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant corporate accounting & finance experience.
  • Ability to provide specific financial technical expertise in accounting or other disciplines, performing mid-level analytical assignments.
  • Working experience with a large ERP system.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access and QuickBooks.
