job summary:

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join the team of a manufacturing company headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their experience and GAAP knowledge to provide hands-on leadership of day-to-day accounting responsibilities across multiple businesses. The Assistant Controller should be an organized and self-directed team member with excellent communication skills!

responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholder teams to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a cooperative way, communicating

effectively and efficiently with managerial and executive teams. Build and strengthen relationships with other departments,

including sales, operations, customer service, marketing, and IT.

Oversee daily operations of the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financial reports.

Manage cash positions. Prepare weekly cash forecasts and daily cash reporting. Provide management with cash analyses.

Work closely with Credit and AP to ensure cash forecast accuracy.

Own monthly close processes across multiple businesses and multiple ERP systems.

Ensure all financial statements are issued timely and in accordance with GAAP. Prepare/review journal entries and account reconciliations.

Prepare monthly financial statements, owner reporting packages, bank reporting and Board Meeting reports.

Perform technical accounting research and assess implications to the Company. Document the Company's position.

Provide guidance and assistance to other finance team members, including A/R, A/P, and Cost Accounting

 
qualifications:

College degree in related field.

Certified Public Accountant designation is required.

7+ years' relevant work experience. Experience in manufacturing or consumer goods is a plus.

1-3 years supervisory/management experience, strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP.
