job summary:

Tatum Professional Search has an immediate opportunity for an Assistant Controller/Director of Accounting available with a Healthcare client in Atlanta GA.

responsibilities:

-Support the Controller in directing the company's accounting and finance functions, to include maintaining the company's accounting principles and practices.

-Prepares financial reports, presenting findings and recommendations to the CFO and Controller.

-Required to assist in maintaining financial systems that enhance the timely and accurate preparation, analysis, distribution, and maintenance of all financial statements, cash controls, purchasing, billing, accounts payable and receivable, annual budgetary forecasting and budgetary monitoring, adherence, as well as M&A integration for Company.

− Develop and Manage a team of Accountants

− Ownership of end to end month end close process

− Management of financial package, cash requirements for the business/treasury functions and audit work throughout the year

− Directly manage accounting for all insurance policies and facility and equipment leases

− Monthly trial balance review and variance analysis; ensure accounts reconciliations are completed timely and accurately

− Prepare detailed and summary variance to budget and forecasts

− Issue regional dashboards and financials

− Lead/host monthly calls with operations for all regional operational insight/commentary before preparing and issuing internal financial statements and MD&A (management discussion and analysis narratives) to CFO and Vice President/Controller

− Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including property taxes.

− Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as needed

- Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are appropriate and operating effectively, including segregation of duties, and that all financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP

− Perform other related duties as required.

 
qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA required.

-At least 7+ years' experience required, with 5 years as an Accounting Leader/Controller.

-M&A experience highly preferred.

- Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

- Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

- Must have the ability to communicate with co-workers, executives, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

-Travel required for M&A integration, up to 5% local and domestic.

- Healthcare experience a plus.

- Big 4 Accounting and/or Private Equity experience are a plus.

-Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Requires up to 5% local and domestic travel.
