job summary:

Our Client is a boutique Real Estate investment and Property Management company located in South Philadelphia. They are looking for a dynamic and detailed individual to grow within our team as an accounting clerk/bookkeeper. The accounting clerk is responsible for Accounts Payable duties (booking bills, paying bills, and meeting discount deadlines) as well as general office duties including but not limited to: scanning, filing and answering phones as needed.

responsibilities:
  • Processing Accounts Receivable Checks. Make deposits daily, or on a weekly basis as needed (Process tenant receivables in Appfolio and Quickbooks)
  • Invoicing clients for payments via ACH and Reconcile monthly accounts between Appfolio and Quickbooks
  • Monitor and maintain Accounts receivable and resolve any irregularities or inquiries
  • Process Vendor invoices for payments within the deadline
  • Month-end closing responsibilities:
    • Processing charge detail report
    • Invoicing owner companies
    • Processing paydowns from Management to Owner companies
  • Post tenant charges and credits in Appfolio as needed (maintenance, late fees, etc.)
  • Process security deposit refunds while working with Maintenance Department to confirm deductions
    • Generate disposition letter and send to former tenants
  • General office duties including but not limited to:
    • Scanning, filing, copying, labeling
    • Running errands as needed
    • Answering phones and taking detailed messages as needed
  • Support the controller with special projects
 
qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office 365 is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle high volume and diverse workflow
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
