job summary:

Tatum is currently seeking a Business Unit Controller to oversee and coordinate all aspects of supplier on-boarding, accounts payable, expense reimbursements, and travel programs for a large business unit of a client in the greater Los Angeles Area.

This person will direct the day-to-day functions of these operations to ensure effective delivery of services to all of their loyal clients and suppliers.

    responsibilities:

    The responsibilities of the Business Unit Controller will include but are not limited to:

    • Directing daily operations for multiple high volume processing functions
    • Ensuring operational units comply with fiscal year end close requirements
    • Developing and enhancing key metrics to measure operational performance
    • Responding to escalations and complex procedure-pay policy questions
    • Developing and monitoring risk based data analytics programs for fraud detection and university expenditures policy violation
    • Reviewing and approving financial transactions
    • Serving as primary liaison for external financial audits
     
    qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

    • 7-10 years of progressive financial operations responsibility with at least 5 of those years in a finance leadership role
    • Demonstrated competence in financial reporting and internal controls, development of financial and budget planning models, and bench-marking tools
    • Proficiency with reporting tools, ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
