job summary:

An established transportation provider offering global logistics solutions to clients throughout the world, has an opportunity for a Finance Manager to implement accounting, cost control, and budgeting systems company-wide. The Finance Manager will provide executive management with accurate records of income and expenses, assets, liabilities, financial transactions, and the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all activities of the accounting department including month-end financial close activities, preparation and posting of journal entries, and analytical review of account activity
  • Ensure accounting processes and activities align with internal policies and technical accounting requirements
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Maintain accounts to produce and provide timely and accurate financial reports and analysis
  • Perform and monitor all expenditures, journal and ledger entries, bank statements, account activity and other accounting and financial records
  • Ensure financial recording accuracy, compliance, and financial reporting and controls are within generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and established accounting standards and procedures
  • Reconcile the company's bank statements and general ledgers
  • Offer recommendations to executive management regarding upgrades to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting

· CPA preferred (active or inactive)

· Expert level of proficiency with all Microsoft Applications with an emphasis on Excel

· Proficient with financial reporting tools

· Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate extensive data

· Experience working in the logistics or transportation sector is a plus
