Tatum has partnered with an expanding, privately equity company in MD, who is seeking an Controller for one of their portfolio companies. The primary objective of this role is to maintain financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. This position will report directly into the CFO, this person must enjoy being a Hands-On controller.

This role is mainly remote but the controller needs to go to MD once a quarter. North East Candidates preferred.

• Maintain overall responsibility for the financial operations of the Company, including all financial accounting and analysis, treasury, audit, and high-quality reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage all accounting operations including General Ledger, Billing, A/R, A/P, and Payroll
• Control of cash related to accounting, payroll, tax AP/AR and inventory, rolling cash forecasting tracking system and bank reconciliation
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Balance sheet oriented, account analysis, reconciliation, monthly accruals, monthly JE's, month-end close
• Report the key financial and operating results of the business and their respective drivers by analyzing, modeling, forecasting, and communicating their underlying trends.
• Support CFO in all financial matters of the organization
• Work closely with the CFO and private equity partners on strategic initiatives.

• The successful candidate will have 5+ years total accounting experience with 3+ years in a senior financial role.
• Demonstrated successful accounting leadership with high growth, private equity backed consulting, staffing, or business services (or related) companies.
• Experience of learning and evaluating existing processes, making recommendations for improved efficiency, and implementing process improvements across a variety of functional areas.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Unquestionable integrity, ethics and judgement.
