Our client is a construction firm offering total site improvement solutions from clearing through final landscaping! They are growing rapidly, and are seeking to fill the position of CONTROLLER, which will be based out their corporate headquarters in Camden County New Jersey

The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting team, while working closely with Senior Management and Project Management teams. The Controller's main responsibilities include preparing financial reports, statements, and financial projections.

  • Manages the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of cash flow, work in progress, inventory, general and entity accounting, month-end accruals, reconciliations, and cost accounting.
  • Implements a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, as well as a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Manages all aspects of general ledger. Maintains and updates chart of accounts
  • Directs and manages a team of direct reports, including Sr Accountants.
  • Responsible for the preparation of operating budgets and overseeing financial reporting.
  • Forecasting cash flow based on upcoming projects, expenditures, investments, and taxliabilities.
  • Reviews, examines and presents month-end, quarter-end,and annual financial statements to the management team.
  • Conducts monthly financial project review meetings with respective project management teams.
  • Oversees and reviews yearly audit and preparation oftax returns by external CPA's.
  • Analyze and manage process for work in progress (WIP) reporting and closing process.
  • Perform margin analysis on projects for improved cost management and increased profits.
  • Manages and administers incoming and outgoing pay applications and invoices in a timely manner. Corresponds with customers to resolve billing issues and reduce accounts receivables.
  • Any other financial tasks required by Senior Management or ownership.
  • Effective in working with all levels of the operation (internal and external) to ensure financial directives are followed.
  • Must have clear decision-making ability.
  • Multitasking and keeping projects on track to meet deadlines essential.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to complete required duties in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Previous experience dealing with banks and financial institutions.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Viewpoint Experience is a plus.
