job summary:

Tatum is hiring a Controller/accounting leader of a dynamic growing company in the real estate development for single family rental space. This role will perform all aspects of the accounting cycle including payroll, accounts payable, cash management, and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for all company entities, including development company and rental property financials
  • Coordinate completion of timely audits and tax returns, including managing all data requests and related responsibilities
  • Manage banking and loan relationships for all projects under development
  • Assist company in due diligence processes by coordinating and managing the information flow to and from various third parties (i.e sellers, buyers, owners, bankers, legal counsel, etc.)
  • Provide information to executive leadership and external investors by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Prepare accurate monthly construction draw requests for submission to lenders and investors
  • The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment and interact with all levels of management.
  • The position requires a high level of independent judgment, initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP required
  • Must have experience with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & ability to independently research and resolve issues.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage complex tasks and issues concurrently.
  • Self-motivated and able to self-prioritize with minimal supervision.
