job summary:

My client, an international corporation, is seeking a qualified, motivated and team oriented Corporate Controller, local to South Florida (Miami Dade/Broward County) to join their well established, critically acclaimed organization.

Applicants must be local to South Florida and flexible working 4 days remote/1 day in office within 30 days of hire.

This position supports all accounting operational functions, including, financial reporting and tax preparation. This position also leads and supervises the daily accounting process for the accounting team while working closely with operations to continue scaling the organization through the upcoming multiple growth phases.

responsibilities:
  • Preparation of internal (multi-entity) financial statements
  • Prepare, enter and post journal entries
  • Consolidation of all financial data for general ledger Manage accuracy and timeliness of the month end journal entries and closing process
  • Monitor and review trial balances for the month end close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
  • Responsible for monthly and year-end closes
  • Train, lead and develop accounting team members
  • Oversee daily, monthly accounting activities of accounting team members
  • Assist in the coordination of all accounting functions
  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor and review for accuracy the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements for all entities
  • Implement and monitor adequate and effective internal controls
  • Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance as applicable
  • Maintain account reconciliation policies and processes
  • Prepare and file tax returns and K-1s for multiple entities
  • Provide supporting documentation and assists with the coordination of audits
  • Ad Hoc reporting
 
qualifications:
  • Licensed CPA highly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Master's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of diverse accounting experience with multi-company accounting experience
  • Experience with JV transactions
  • Working knowledge within the hospitality/restaurant industry preferred
