job summary:

The Controller position is a high impact role with an established company with deep New England roots. Excellent opportunity to oversee and develop a team responsible for providing timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting in a fast paced, growing environment. The Controller will strengthen controls and streamline processes to maximize efficiencies.

responsibilities:

The Controller will oversee and direct all accounting and functions in a multi-site, multi-state company. The Controller will lead month end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, improve processes, and develop staff

The Controller will oversee:

  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Month end close
  • Maintain GL
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation and analysis
  • Process Improvements
  • Ensure financial information is accurate
  • US GAAP compliance
  • Variance analysis
  • Manage AP, AR, Cash Flow, Fixed Assets, Payroll
  • Coordinate with auditors
  • Cash management function
  • Hire, train and motivate staff
 
qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA desired
  • Willing and able to create and define your role
  • Previous staff management preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to quickly learn systems
  • Ability to lead, manage and train staff
