This is the top Finance & Accounting person with growth opportunity to be CFO. The Financial Controller position is with a fast paced technology company in Greater Boston. This is a Senior Management position that will be a strategic business partner to the CEO guiding decisions and driving the overall financial health of the organization.

The Controller will work cross functionally with executives on key decisions impacting the overall business. The ideal candidate is a strategic, business savvy finance professional who can work cross functionally to grow the business and increase profitability.

    The Controller will manage and direct staff ensuring the timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting for the company. Duties include:

    • Prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts
    • Develop long range business plans and strategy
    • Understand key business indicators and impact on financial performance
    • Review financial performance, recommend strategies to improve variances
    • Maintain bank relationships
    • Cash flow reporting
    • Improve, automate processes to maximize efficiencies
    • Oversee month end close process and preparation of financial statements
    • Monitor and interpret new accounting pronouncements and understand impact on business
    • Manage A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
    • Coordinate with external auditors
    • Motivate and develop staff



    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 10+ years work of relevant experience
    • CPA preferred
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
    • Prior experience in publicly traded company desired
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Process improvement mindset
    • Prior management experience preferred
    • Self motivated

    Salary and overall compensation package are negotiable. This is a key hire, impact hire so fairly wide salary range to ensure they land right person.
