job summary:

Tatum by Randstad Professional Search has a client in Duluth, GA seeking an experienced and talented Corporate Controller. The company is the largest nationwide surveying organization, providing builder services' surveying to production home builders. They help builders build houses faster and more profitably.

The Corporate Controller is responsible for directing and managing daily accounting activities, ensuring that proper accounting and recording of company transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner.

This position focuses on managing the finance AR & AP teams, financial reporting for management, as well as administrative processes and procedures in the finance department. This role also provides strategic financial leadership and direction on the Executive Leadership Team, building deep and longstanding relationships with clients at the executive level. This person will personify and enhance the company's reputation, build awareness around technology and services offered and identity opportunities for increased penetration across client-base. Success in this role requires integrity, charisma, professional polish, drive, assertiveness, and independent judgement, as you will be responsible for building key relationships with minimal supervision.

      responsibilities:
      • Manage all internal accounting operational functions including, but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations and general ledger
      • Timely and accurately close monthly, quarterly, and year-end periods
      • Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with the GAAP
      • Manage cash flow and reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis
      • Manage corporate and professional licensing requirements at the local and state level
      • Manage corporate insurance policies, ensuring they are competitively bid and coverages are suitable for risk
      • Coordinate tax planning, tax filings and audits with outside accounting firms and ensure compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes
      • Hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff
      • Manage relationships with banks, payroll, benefits, 401k and insurance providers
      • Assist C suite in financial planning, forecasting and results management.
      • Manage and review budgets at department and company levels.
      • Work with department managers to understand their budgets including revenue, cost drivers, and define appropriate reports for tracking
      • Preparation of ad hoc reports to senior leadership
      • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes
      • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
      • Other finance and administrative duties as required
       
      qualifications:
      • 7+ years of controller, accounting, and financial management experience
      • Experience working in a fast-growing service/solution delivery business is critical
      • Recent experience in a finance operation of at least $20 million in annual revenues
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
      • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently prioritize and manage tasks and time
      • Merger and acquisition finance experience is a plus
      • Power user of QuickBooks and Excel. NetSuite experience a plus.
      • Candidate must show a track record of high success and consistent success at adding value.
