job summary:

Cost Accountant needed! Paying up to $105k, great work/life balance, 100+ year old company. Our client, a well established, growing manufacturer with multiple sites and business units across the US, is looking to add a cost accountant to their CT team. This position will be part of the operational accounting group and reporting to the Accounting Manager. This company is well respected and hold contracts in defense, aerospace, automotive and many other industries.

This position is pivotal to financial performance of the organization. This role will require you to manage multiple responsibilities from establishing standard cost on new parts to inventory accounting and system management to supporting the bidding process for new government projects.       responsibilities:
      • Establishment and review of standard costs for new and existing parts
      • Support of month end financial close
      • Manage inventory and related work order systems including physical to perpetual to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, audit explanations, and standard costs
      • Provide cost analysis and reporting to support business' financial decision making process: Purchase Price Variances, Labor and Overhead Variances
      • Support Business Development team with bid process for new contracts and programs
      • Assist with Operation management to identify and analyze cost saving initiatives
       
      qualifications:

      Job Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
      • 3+ years experience in Manufacturing, defense or government industries
      • Excellent standard cost expertise
      • Strong manufacturing experience
      • ERP experience
