Sr. Cost Accountant paying up to $95,000 w/ 401k + match, PTO, health benefits and tuition reimbursement!!! Our client has more than 30 years of providing best in class products. As they continue to grow, this team is looking for an individual with strong inventory analysis experience to join their team, reporting to the Controller. This position is considered the financial leader at the plant and will be providing financial performance information to make educated economic decisions about the plant's future.

The Sr Cost Accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of a standard cost system, target costing projects, margin analysis, and research of issues to uncover root causes related to costing.

    Information and Cost Accounting Systems:

    • Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
    • Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
    • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
    • ERP system implementation involvement

    Accounting, Closing, and Financial Analysis:

    • Analysis of all costs compared to budget, forecast and prior periods
    • Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual,
    • Validate the COGS as part of the month-end close
    • Inventory analysis and recommendation (trends, obsolescence, and excess)
    • Prepare financial analysis based on various cost data points from the business
    • Track fixed assets and repairs including prep or review of CAPEX

    Operational Activities and Support

    • Lead and direct the plant accounting activities
    • Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
    • Document inventory count procedures.
    • Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor/overhead.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance
    • Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
    • At least 3 years of accounting experience with Standard or Average cost experience
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • COVID vaccine required
