job summary:

Growing publicly traded company in Boca Raton seeking to hire a Director of Accounting and SEC Reporting immediately. This position offers excellent compensation package(Base plus up to 20% Bonus) and unlimited growth. The company offers dynamic environment as well as work/life balance. This position can be partly remote.

    responsibilities:

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee accounting activities that support financial statement preparation and filings with the SEC and other regulatory bodies as necessary
    • Ensure that financial information is accurately reflected in the financial statements in accordance with GAAP
    • Implement improvement opportunities including SOX controls
    • Participate in/support closing process
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
    • Perform reconciliations and analyses
    • Prepare and coordinate the review of SEC documents (10K, 10Q, Proxy, 8K as needed)
    • Manage equity accounting
    • Implement solutions for process and profitability improvements
    • Maintain relevant SOX controls
    • Perform research on accounting and SEC technical issues and monitor changes in accounting rules affecting the business
    • Manage third parties in carrying out the above duties including outside counsel, auditors, and valuation experts
    • Support capital transactions and related filings
     
    qualifications:

    Requirements:

    • CPA license required (current preferred)
    • Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in Accounting
    • Excel functionality required
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience with mix of medium/large public company and public accounting experience
