job summary:
Leading biotech/pharmaceutical company is looking for a Director of Accounting. Reports to the Senior Director overseeing finance and accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review quarterly cost allocations for departments and cost plus between entities
- Review the monthly consolidation process, including foreign currency revaluation, translation, and elimination
- Lead the financial close for R&D and SG&A in accordance with GAAP to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, trend analysis, and reporting
- Participate in meetings with R&D team and review contracts to develop expectations around the progress of clinical studies
- Develop the quarterly balance sheet and income statement flux analysis
- Manage the day to day procurement operations
- Support all internal and external audits, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley section 404
- Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures adequate for a publicly held company with commercial and development product lines and monitor adherence to policies
Requirements:
BS degree
CPA with mix of public and industry experience
Experience with biotech industry a plus
