turning America's enormous clean power potential into reality. We are seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting arm of our Finance Group. The person will be instrumental in the hiring, training, supervising and evaluating of professional staff and will manage the relationship with the financial auditors.

responsibilities:

Ensures accurate accounting in compliance with US GAAP and proper financial documentation. Responsible for the accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting. Oversights accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and/or other accounting functions and ensures proper internal controls are followed. Manages the relationshipwith the audi tors and proactively keeps appropriate documentation to anticipate to their requests. This position plays a key role supporting the VP, Finance on the management of operating cashflow position and investment activities.

? Manage & develop team of accounting professionals.

? Responsible for the monthly and annual financial close, including the preparation of

financial statements, in compliance with US GAAP, official guidelines and requirements.

? Ensures proper internal controls are followed and recommends process changes to improve efficiency and/ or address risk.

? Ensures accounts are timely and properly reconciled.

? Oversights the overall Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and employee reimbursements/American Express account process.

? Manages the relationship with the audit firm and is responsible for the timely completion of the annual audit.

? Supports the Vice President, Finance on the monthly management of operating

cashflow and investments activities.

? Integral to the performance of analytics; running financial statements and performing flux analysis.

? Supports the Finance arm of the group on the actuals to budget analysis and executive reporting.

 
qualifications:

? A Bachelor degree in business, accounting or equivalent. At least 5 years of relevant experience required. CPA certification and/or Post-graduate work a plus.

? Knowledge of Great Plains and FRX reporting strongly desired.

? Must be proficient in using Excel and other Microsoft Office Software.

? Must be able to work pleasantly and effectively with other staff, members, and vendors.

? Must be able to work as a team member.

? Must demonstrate strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

? Experience with transaction accounting.

? Self-starter that will work independently.

This position is based in Wash DC and offers a hybrid work schedule with a lot of flexibility for remote work. Annual salary is $100,000 - 130,000 + bonus.
