job summary:

Tatum is partnering with a dental support organization, helping build out their Corporate Development team, adding a newly created Director of Business Development position to help support significant growth targets over the next 5+ years. You will lead and develop M&A activities while also building out a team of analysts. The company has a new Private Equity sponsor who has provided tremendous resources and capital to fuel this growth.

responsibilities:
  • Lead overall M&A activities for the business in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer
  • Actively identify and source acquisition targets, including building relationships with brokers and building a deal pipeline consistent with the company's strategic objectives
  • Create a business case and valuation model with each potential transaction
  • Hire and develop M&A Analyst team
  • Provide/lead cross-functional diligence activities on the targets
  • Structure and negotiate deals, working with senior leadership team and Chief Development Officer to gain approval from the Board
  • Participate in post-acquisition activities
  • Operate as strategic partner to Chief Development Officer and C-team
  • Work effectively with financial, operations personnel, sponsors, and third parties
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related area; MBA preferred
  • 4-8+ years of experience in similar role, including corporate development, investment banking, or private equity
  • Healthcare, dental, dermatology, urgent care, physical therapy or other related industry experience preferred
