job summary:

Tatum has been asked to lead the recruiting and hiring effort for a client who needs someone to lead their Shared Services function. The primary goal is of the hire is to push the organization forward in its ability to grow and expand as a company. This person will be given the opportunity to create new processes, train and develop staff, leverage technology and various tools in an effort to drive the desired efficiencies. The position reports directly into the executive team and will have a considerable impact on the company's direction and productivity.

responsibilities:

Additional duties as follows:

  • Responsible for month and quarter end close processes for virtually all accounting activities; support the Business Units to produce accurate, complete and timely financial statements
  • Establishes relationships with key finance leaders of each business unit
  • Lead continuous process improvements by focusing on value-added activities and leveraging technology for increased efficiency and automation
  • Implement process, system and internal control changes to ensure the month-end close processes are updated to incorporate impacts from M&A, divestitures, the adoption of new accounting standards
  • Align the shared services organization structure and processes as well as employee skills and responsibilities to stakeholder needs
  • Develop and monitor KPIs/metrics to track team's effectiveness
  • Provide strategic direction for the development of all aspects of Shared Services budget, financial planning, operational planning, and workforce planning
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with customer base, serve as an interface between internal and external (business) customers to ensure effective delivery of services
 
qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or other Business related field
  • 12+ years experience in accounting, reporting and/or Shared Services
  • CPA preferred but not a must have
  • Proven knowledge and success in Shared Services area
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with all facets of the organization to develop and execute plans, leveraging various teams across the organization
  • Excellent team building skills, strategic problem-solving skills, strong project and resource management skills, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Prior management experience is a must have, prefer in organizations of 50+ team members
  • History of implementing best practices and utilizing technology to increase productivity
