job summary:

One of the largest growing retailers in the US is hiring for a Director of People Operations. Based in the East Bay, this would be a hybrid role and report to their VP of HR. This individual will manage a team of 20 (5 HRBPs, 1 HRBP Mgr, 10 generalists, and 4 regional recruiters) They will be responsible for developing strategic HR plans and initiatives, lead talent management practices, design and implement retention and engagement strategies, lead change initiatives, and provide executive coaching to senior leaders.

Ideal candidate will have Bachelor's in human resources or related field, 10+ years of working experience within retail or service industry, strong employee relations experience, change management experience, problem solving skills, proficiency in HRIS system preferably Workday, and ability to deliver results in fast paced high volume environment.

Responsibilities

- Develops strategic human resource plans tied to business objectives. Partners with local and regional senior leaders to ensure alignment and gain buy-in and support.

- Leads and imbeds cutting edge talent management practices into the business strategy, including performance management, talent review and succession planning, and drives key practices to develop high performing, high potential talent.

- Designs and executes retention and engagement strategies to continually develop and retain high performer and high potential talent.

- Partners with leaders to lead change initiatives and implements effective change management and communication practices.

- Drives team effectiveness practices, including leadership coaching, team styles and decision making, and competency development to improve organizational effectiveness.

- Partners effectively with senior leaders across the organization in order to drive the cross-pollination of talent, ideas, and resources to help the business achieve their objectives.

- Works in conjunction with other organizational and people development departments such as Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits in order to support and improve functional collaboration and drive business results.

- Responsible for company-wide HR projects or initiatives. May serve as the Project Lead working with other HR colleagues and key leaders to develop, implement, and make improvements to HR related processes and key initiatives

- Provides executive coaching to senior leaders.

- MBA is preferred - PHR, SPHR, or GPHR certification preferred

- Minimum 10+ year's related experience in Human Capital/Human Resource Management
