job summary:

Our client a (software), SAAS Values-Driven organization is growing and is adding a new Director of Revenue Accounting. Director of Revenue Accounting is responsible for managing accounting duties for all revenue streams, including License Sales (Perpetual, Subscription and SAAS), Maintenance, Maintenance Renewals, Training, Client Contract Interpretation, Consulting Services, Program Fees, etc. for my client. The Director of Revenue will be primarily be responsible for all aspects of Revenue Recognition and Bookings for all transactions, as well as budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, and reporting of all revenue recorded. This person will serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors for interim testing and annual audit . Additionally, this person will be the primary lead in all facets of ASC606. responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement culture, reviewing existing processes and evaluating future changes to ensure the most efficient and effective means for Order Processing, Bookings and Revenue Reporting.
  • Help design and maintain processes and controls over license key management, Order Processing, and revenue recognition in the areas for applicable revenue streams as they pertain to ASC606
  • Assist in the transition to our Subscription Journey and implementation of system to automate the recognition of the company's Revenue Recognition Policies, providing training on new processes to Order Processing Team, and determine areas of improvement and change requests for Revenue and Order Processing functions.
  • Provide support and guidance to legal team during contract negotiations and reviews in the areas of revenue recognition.
  • Recommend and define changes to processes, including sales, renewal, and partner program processes, to ensure the validity and collectability of all license and deferred license revenue recorded.
  • Manage the Month end Revenue close process including:
  • Prepare and document revenue recognition reporting under US GAAP rules for license purchases with non-standard terms or over pre-determined revenue threshold.
  • Prepare and document revenue recognition reporting under US GAAP rules for Maintenance, Maintenance Renewals, Training, Consulting Services, Program Fees
  • Manage the license revenue accounting area and associated responsibilities, including month-end calculations, accruals, deferrals, reconciliations, and bookings reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of revenue forecasting as well as the tracking of deals throughout the month and reconciling sales forecasts to actual revenue figures as part of month-end processes, explaining all reconciling or outstanding items.
  • Own company's revenue management application, from accounting into other related applications.
