Rapidly growing Manufacturing / Distribution Company seeks to hire a Director of SEC Reporting as they prepare for an IPO. The Director of SEC Reporting will oversee all technical accounting and external SEC reporting functions

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic leadership team.

This is a brand new role that will lead the external financial reporting and manage the preparation of financial statements, statutory filings, and related regulatory filings. You will be responsible for all SEC reporting and technical accounting guidance and analysis. You will own and be responsible for supporting the quarterly reviews and annual audit, as well as, researching, interpreting, and implementing new accounting standards.

responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and buildout of an SEC-compliant reporting structure
  • Monitor US GAAP and SEC developments regarding the proper presentation of financial statements and related footnote disclosures
  • Responsible for financial statements and disclosures for external and internal reporting, including disclosures in the Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and earnings releases
  • Review financial information included in the company's external communications, such as those for investor/analyst conferences, earnings calls, and releases
  • Prepare supporting documentation related to SEC filings and engage with auditors to achieve an efficient audit or review of the filings
  • Establish and maintain detailed technical accounting policies
  • Monitor and analyze proposed rule changes and implement as necessary
  • Provide technical accounting support for revenue recognition, inventory treatment & valuation, lease accounting, plus other critical accounting standards applicable to the business
  • Work closely with FP&A and other members of the finance team to ensure reciprocal accounting treatments where applicable, and to install best practices across the accounting functions
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement consolidation for actual, forecast and budget.
 
qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with SEC filings of large publicly traded companies and previous CPA firm audit experience with public clients
  • CPA Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience with SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement successful and maintainable process changes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
  • Must excel in a fast-paced start-up type environment
