job summary:

A well recognized food/beverage distributor has an opportunity for a manager to oversee all distribution and operations for the distribution and warehouse facility. This company works with premier brands throughout the world and offers an a great work environment with state of the art equipment and technology.

  • Responsible for planning, controlling and directing all activities for the safe and efficient operation of all order selecting and shipping
  • Oversees the hiring and deployment of distribution team which consists of both union, non-union and temporary personnel.
  • Ensures employees are properly trained/certified in regards fulfillment techniques, warehouse operations, OSHA regulations and equipment (e.g., conveyors, forklifts, skids).
  • Effectively directs replenishment of pick modules.
  • Works to meet/exceed product cases per employee-hour goals, as well as minimize product breakage.
  • Evaluates warehouse automation systems and improves operating efficiencies, including conveyor and sorting systems using both voice-picking and printed
  • Manages, coaches and develops a supervisory team that helps direct warehouse activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and six (6) years warehouse management experience, or ten plus (10+) years of warehouse management experience.
  • Previous experience in a union environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience with WMS (warehouse management system).
  • Demonstrated ability conducting safety-training
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft
