Finance Manager

We are an independent financial advisory firm with a proven track record in project finance and M&A advisory services. We advise leading global private sector sponsors and investors in power generation, energy, and infrastructure sectors with a strong focus on emerging markets. We have an opening for a Finance Manager to support our CFO based in our Washington DC office.

responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and review all journal entries being entered into Great Plains
  • Manage and review all accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
  • Managing a listing of all mandates and all the retainers/timing to comply with revenue recognition policy
  • Prepare quarterly reconciliations for 20+ bank accounts, and all balance sheet accounts for each entity
  • Review/approve all expense reports and maintain listing of ones that need to be invoiced to clients
  • Ad hoc projects; including but not limited to supporting the conversion of the financials from cash basis accounting method to accrual accounting method and creating a system for AP/AR invoices and support so they are easily available when needed for an audit
  • Manage relationships with local accountants for each foreign subsidiary
  • Assist in annual budget process; prepare draft budgets in coordination with regional offices and assist in development in monthly financial management variance reports
  • US and overseas tax and audit support
  • DC office management support
 
qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Ability to manage multi-site/multi-currency platform a plus
  • Experience completing reconciliations, ensuring accurate reporting and GL maintenance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software; advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Management Reporter a plus
  • Bachelor of Accounting/Business/Finance required. CPA or MBA a plus, but not required
