job summary:

Our client is a diverse U.S. publicly traded utility company with over 6,000 employees in 25 states.

They are in need of a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for producing the monthly financial statement summary and interpretation, Business Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

This role will have some hybrid/remote, with mostly onsite presence in the offices in Belleville, IL required

  • Has advanced knowledge sufficient to interpret and apply to the work performed at a senior professional level:
  • Ability to identify the need for and develop new financial analysis requirements and models.
  • Able to apply more complex project evaluation and scenario modeling techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products and productivity tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access).
  • Prior knowledge and experience with Oracle, Workday, or other ERP software a plus.

  • Works with finance leaders, and Operational teams to deliver effective analysis of results (plan, forecast and actuals). Analyzes financial statement results, reviews financial/operational metrics, and prepares key performance variance analysis/explanations and participates in all financial budgetary processes. Serve as liaison for Workday reporting tool, including creating dashboards and relevant analysis utilizing workday. (35%)
  • Supports the HOS business in all aspects of planning, forecasting and reporting. Assists in ensuring accuracy of business plan targets. Works with the Finance team, to ensure consistency of approach, assumptions and models and to enable effective cover of activities within the team. Works with Functional Departments to create financial budget and forecast models utilizing the Workday budget tool. Collaborates with all business partners in budget assumptions and developing pertinent schedules that support the financial projections. (40%)
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for Apax Board reporting requirements (10%)
  • Develop ad hoc analyses as required to support HOS reporting needs and as aids to identify financial performance improvement opportunities. (10%)
  • Compile and report on activity for the HOS Capital budgeting process. (5%)


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • MBA In Accounting or Finance or CPA preferred.
