job summary:

Tatum by Randstad is working with one of our established real estate clients and they are looking to hire a Real Estate Financial Analyst in West Los Angeles. This is a newly created role that will report to the Assistant Controller. The Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis related to commercial, multi-family, industrial properties acquisition, disposition, development, financing, and management. The ideal candidate will work on all aspects of real estate investment functions, including financial modeling, due diligence associated with property acquisition, disposition asset-level underwriting, portfolio reporting, monitoring/analysis of investment performance, and special projects as needed.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meaningful financial analyses, presentations, and performance templates to aid senior management decisions
  • Coordinate capital planning activities with the Acquisition, Asset Management, and Development departments.
  • Work closely with the acquisition, due diligence, finance, property management, and portfolio management teams throughout the acquisition/disposition process.
  • Prepare financial models using Excel
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis for asset management, portfolio reporting, development/redevelopment projects, leasing, capital, and refinancing opportunities
  • Provide analytical support to the CFO, and other senior finance leadership members as required
  • Preparing monthly corporate reporting for management and the board of directors
  • Review of the monthly Divisional and Corporate level financial reporting. Includes formulating questions based on self-review of the information, inquiring of others, or preparing responses for changes in the company's operation as compared to plan and prior year
  • Provide support as needed during annual corporate audit
  • Gather property-specific data for annual NAA reporting
  • Weekly cash reporting for Consolidated and Unconsolidated investments, including cash flow analysis
  • Prepare monthly asset level management fee analysis for wholly owned and joint venture assets
 
qualifications:

Qualifications & Education:

All qualifications must comply with provincial human rights legislation.

  • Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • CPA preferred, not required
  • Requires at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, private equity, asset management
  • Knowledge of consolidations and equity method of accounting for investments
  • Able to work with proficiently in various computer software applications like Yardi, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Energetic, organized, creative, and highly motivated person with the ability to learn and work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines
