We are looking for a Financial Analyst to assist with the development and on-going financial analysis within the sales and marketing department, supporting multiple business units. Knowledge of creating and developing spreadsheet based forecasting models, databases, general accounting analysis and recordkeeping processes are key requirements for this position

responsibilities:
  • Liaison between business unit managers, including routine communication with supervisors relating to financial results, issues and project deliverables.
  • Work closely with business unit managers on merchandising initiatives including analyzing and improving inventory turns, sales margin and ROI analysis.
  • Assist with inventory analysis for non-stock items, unproductive and inactive inventory.
  • Creating and distributing sales performance reports to internal and external audiences.
  • Assist business unit managers with supplier score cards and compliance matters (including purchase tracking, rebate accruals, filings, product replenishment and deficiency analysis).
  • Assist with analysis for sales incentive programs, including spiff contests and tracking.
  • Support in the development of various cost benefit and ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Claiming and tracking of vendor rebates related to job quotes.
  • Prepare analysis reports of customer pricing and profit margins realized
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • Experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role (2 years minimum related experience).
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating advanced spreadsheet models and formulas). Familiarity with relational databases such as Hyperion, SQL or similar BI applications. ++
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical in nature with ability to generate creative ideas to improve processes.
