General Ledger Accountant

Currently working with a high growth international medical technology company that is currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant for their organization to support the Senior Accounting Manager around the month-end close functions, GL accounting, audit support and other special projects. Position will have tremendous opportunity to learn a variety of new areas if they seek and grow with the company. responsibilities:

The General Ledger Accountant is a newly created role for the Accounting and Finance Team that reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be utilizing your expertise to prepare journal entries, analyze financial information, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data source. This role is also responsible for supporting the Senior Accounting Manager in conducting key activities such as quarter-end and year-end close, accounts payable, fixed assets, account reconciliations and audits.

Responsibilities:

    • Review accounts payable activity for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to policy.
    • Maintain fixed asset ledger and prepare subledger entries monthly.
    • Reconcile balance sheet and high-volume income statement accounts.
    • Perform quarterly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis.
    • Assist with preparation of quarter-end and year-end financial statements.
    • Support Auditor in conducting quarterly and annual financial statement audits.
    • Assist with preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly tax filings.
    • Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management.
    • Collaborate with various departments such as Marketing, Legal and other departments.
    • Assist in the documentation and maintenance of Ledger processes and controls, including the identification and testing of relevant SOX controls.
    • Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Complete ad-hoc projects as requested.

    • Proficiency in Excel required.
