job summary:

GENERAL MANAGER:

A well-established company offering construction, tooling, and building supplies, has a key opportunity for a General Manager who will report directly to the CEO of the company. This organization offers custom cut, packaged, and delivered building products to commercial and residential customers throughout the region.

The General Manager will lead the team and functional areas of Production Management to assist the company in setting and meeting its strategic goals. Position is an integral partner to the business ensuring that the organization is positioned to meet overall objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer company policies and direct department activities to develop and implement long-range goals to meet business and profitability growth objectives
  • Analyze costs, operations performance to determine division progress toward objectives
  • Review operating reports to ensure minimum costs and avert operational delays
  • Implements strategic business planning, new product development, and sales forecasting
  • Review operational plans to meeting requirements for sales planning and manufacturing
  • Ensure a safe and hazardous free work environment and champion safety culture for the facility
  • Oversee all operations activities and set goals for each department
  • Schedule operations team workflow and allocate resources to optimize productivity and ensure the efficiency of operations.
  • Prepare the operations budget and forecast
  • Establish production, productivity, and quality standards
  • Manage relationships with key external partners, such as suppliers, vendors, and customers.
  • Review and approve accounting analysis for budget planning, production efficiency, financial reporting, and submittal for capital expenditures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 - 10 years+ of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • At least 8 years of experience in an operations, production or manufacturing role is required.
  • Planning, budgeting, and operations experience
  • Experience in building materials, construction, or home improvement / renovation industry preferred
  • Proficiency in planning, staffing, and budgeting
  • Entrepreneurial and driven to continuously hit goals
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional collaboration
  • College Degree preferred
